چکیده

Abstract The endodontic revascularization may be an alternative treatment for necrotic immature teeth, however, several steps cause tooth discoloration. This study evaluated the use of three calcium silicate-based cements with different radiopacifying agents on color alteration (∆E) extracted premolars after simulation revascularization. Forty single rooted were shaped #1-6 gates Glidden drills, rinsed sodium hypochlorite, and filled fresh human blood. Three (bismuth oxide - CSBi, tungstate CSW, zirconium CSZr) applied over blood clot (n=10). control group received application a temporary zinc oxide-based cement (TFZn) ∆E was measured spectrophotometer, using L*a*b* system International Commission Illumination (CIELab), in times: prior to preparation access cavity (t0); right (t1); one (t2), two (t3), (t4) four (t5) months. site evaluation standardized by silicon matrix, reading performed 3 times per tooth, teeth stored 37º water between evaluations. ∆E, whiteness (WID index) yellowness (b*) evaluated. Data subjected one-way ANOVA repeated measures ANOVA, followed Tukey’s post hoc test (α=0.05). All groups similar ∆E1 (t0-t1). lowest constant group. In all times, CSBi presented highest (p<0.01). CSW CSZr intermediate values. WID index from more distancing ‘white’ reference. greatest decrease (b* value). containing bismuth tested clinically perceptible Calcium used as radiopacifiers discoloration

Tooth Discoloration Induced by Different Calcium Silicate-based Cements: A Systematic Review of In Vitro Studies.

INTRODUCTION On the basis of many clinical observations, some calcium silicate-based cements have a high potential for staining tooth tissue. This feature greatly limits the use of those cements, particularly for anterior teeth. This review aimed to provide a systematic evaluation of published in vitro studies to determine the effect of different calcium silicate-based cements on dental tissue ...

Tooth discoloration induced by calcium-silicate-based pulp-capping materials

OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to evaluate tooth discoloration induced by contact with various calcium silicate-based pulp capping materials in the presence or absence of blood in vitro. MATERIALS AND METHODS Eighty bovine samples were divided into six experimental groups and two control groups according to the type of material used (ProRoot [PR], Endocem [EC], or EndocemZr [ECZ]) and t...

Human tooth germ stem cell response to calcium-silicate based endodontic cements

OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to compare the cytotoxic effects of endodontic cements on human tooth germ stem cells (hTGSCs). MTA Fillapex, a mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA)-based, salicylate resin containing root canal sealer, was compared with iRoot SP, a bioceramic sealer, and AH Plus Jet, an epoxy resin-based root canal sealer. MATERIAL AND METHODS To evaluate cytotoxicity, all mat...

Nanostructure of calcium silicate hydrates in cements.

Calcium silicate hydrate (CSH) is the major volume phase in the matrix of Portland cement concrete. Total x-ray scattering measurements with synchrotron x rays on synthetic CSH(I) shows nanocrystalline ordering with a particle diameter of 3.5(5) nm, similar to a size-broadened 1.1 nm tobermorite crystal structure. The CSH component in hydrated tricalcium silicate is found to be similar to CSH(I...
